The process of inquiry can take many forms.

If you need students to take notes on a subject, You can use a guided inquiry process by asking them questions and helping them to organize their notes and questions using a template.

Or, even better, create an event which causes students to question. Discrepant Events are often shown in science classrooms; however, any event or example which allows a student to ask "Why?" is engaging and promotes inquiry.
